Friends,
Here’s a simple update.
I’m in Las Vegas for the moment. I had a recent ER visit at St. Rose — discharged with “no emergency,” and I’m grateful. Slept eight solid hours last night, which for me is almost revival.
At 76 years old (born November 1, 1949 — yes, I did the math), I’m learning that stability is a spiritual discipline. Sometimes the bravest move is not charging forward, but hunkering down until the numbers line up.
I spoke with my son Ben. His advice was steady and wise: conserve resources, wait for Social Security, move deliberately. That’s what I’m doing.
No crisis.
No collapse.
No dramatic headlines.
Just a man who has survived ICU, and hospice’s date with death, and is breathing, thinking, praying — and taking the next right step.
The journey continues.
Slower.
Wiser.
Still hopeful.
— Charlie
