Old people get nostalgic for the “good old days.” Back then, we didn’t need apps, subscriptions, or loyalty points—just a front porch and a functioning doorbell. We had milk, donuts, and ice cream delivered right to our door like we were minor royalty with questionable cholesterol. I loved pouring half and half on my oatmeal or my cereal, basically turning a “healthy breakfast” into dessert disguised as nutrition. And when the Good Humor man came around, I would instantly forget all manners and beg for a quarter so I could get a drumstick or an ice cream bar. On hot summer days in El Monte, California, the arrival of a popsicle felt like a religious experience. Sometimes, if we looked sad enough—like abandoned puppies with sticky faces—the Good Humor man would give us an extra drumstick. It was my first lesson in the awesome power of weaponized cuteness. Always Remember and Never Forget: these days you are living in right now might actually be the best days of your life… you’ll just realize it twenty years from now while complaining about your back. So enjoy them. Eat Dessert First, take the nap, ignore the kale, and above all, Keep on Breathing… preferably between bites.
